Inseung Kang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Institute at CMU and he directs the MetaMobility Lab. His lab largely work on developing wearable robotic systems, such as exoskeletons, that can augment human mobility during dynamic movement. Prior to joining CMU, he was a postdoctoral associate at MIT working on developing predictive models of human movement and understanding how humans adapt to new locomotor tasks. He completed his BS, MS, and PhD in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech, where he worked on developing robotic hip exoskeletons with deep learning-based control frameworks to enhance mobility for stroke patients.
